MINUTES OF THE ST. CROIX COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
Meeting of December 7, 2000
The meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 9:06 A.M.
Roll call was taken with Dowd, Jacobson, King, and Larson in attendance with
Grant excused. Staff members present during all or part of the meeting
included Daniel Fedderly, Tim Ramberg, Kevin Brown and Steve Schofield.
A motion was made and seconded (Larson/Jacobson) to adopt the agenda as
published. Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded (Larson/King) to schedule the next meeting
for January 8, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. with Jacobson and King reviewing vendors at
8:30 A.M. (After scheduling with the Finance Committee, the meeting was
changed to January 10, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. )
Action on Previous Minutes: A motion was made and seconded (Jacobson/Dowd)
to approve the minutes of the November 8, 2000 meeting. Motion carried.
Approve Vouchers for Payment: King and Larson reviewed the vouchers at 8:30
A.M. A motion was made and seconded (King/Larson) to approve the vouchers
for payment. Motion carried.
Ramberg reviewed the payments being made.
Review Fund Balances: Ramberg handed out and reviewed the November 30, 2000
fund balances comparing them to the previous year.
Review Highway Safety Minutes: Ramberg handed out and reviewed the
unofficial November 30, 2000 St. Croix County Highway Department Safety
Committee minutes and a few of the issues being addressed.
Seminar Attendance Requests: Fedderly announced that Steve Schofield has
accepted the position of Pepin County Highway Commissioner and will be
leaving around the first of the year.
Fedderly reviewed the Winter Highway Conference agenda being held on January
15-17, 2001 at Steven's Point.
Fedderly reviewed a January 10, 2001 U-W Work Zone Traffic Control one-day
seminar in Eau Claire for $35.00 per person whereby WisDOT will pay for half
of the attendees. A motion was made and seconded (Dowd/Jacobson) to
authorize 5-6 employees to attend the Work Zone Traffic Control seminar in
Eau Claire at $35.00 each. Motion carried.
Announcements and Correspondence: Fedderly noted an invitation to the
Humphrey Engineering Open House on Friday December 15, 2000.
The (WCHA) Wisconsin County Highway Association has requested Fedderly to
attend and represent Wisconsin at the (TDA) Transportation Development
Association Washington D.C. Fly-in in February 2001 paid by WCHA.
Fedderly reviewed the Highway Department holiday schedule.
Review WisDOT (DMA) Discretionary Maintenance Agreements: Fedderly reviewed
a WisDOT DMA for miscellaneous pavement repair to be done by the Highway
Department at a cost of approximately $4,000.00. A motion was made and
seconded (Larson/King) to approve and authorize Fedderly to sign the WisDOT
DMA for $4, 000.00. Motion carried.

Review Joint Meeting Highway /Finance Presentation: Fedderly presented a
Powerpoint presentation showing the financial history, trends, and future
goals of the Highway Department.
Adjournment: A motion was made and seconded (Jacobson/Larson) to adjourn at
11:45 P.M. Motion carried. The Highway Department staff invited the
Committee to a potluck Christmas lunch.
