Special Meeting
June 9, 1999
Meeting called to order at 9 : 10 A.M. by Chair Standafer.
Members Present: Linda Luckey, Tom O' Connell and Daryl Standafer.
Gerald Peterson at Personnel Meeting and Nancy Bieraugel excused.
Others Present: WCWRPC Senior Planner Ann Raid and Economic
Development Director Bill Rubin.
Adoption of Agenda: Motion by O' Connell, 2nd by Luckey to adopt
the agenda as published. Carried.
Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, July 6, 1999 9 : 00 A.M.
Adoption of Minutes: Motion by O' Connell, 2nd by Luckey to accept
the amended and corrected minutes for the June 1St meeting.
Carried.
Supr. O' Connell asked Ann Raid if the Administration Committee
members. could recoup per diem from WCWRPC for todays special
meeting, rather than the County paying it . She did not think so,
but would check.
Emerald Dairy LLP: Chair Standafer briefly outlined what was
involved in the grant procedure. Raid highlighted a few points
and stated the operation is a go regardless . The Dairy has been
compliant and has met all the requirements . The town will be the
applicant if the County turns it down.
A resolution will be presented to the County Board on June 22,
1999 . A motion to support the grant was passed at the June 1,
1999 Administration meeting.
Prism Plastics, Inc. : Raid briefly explained what Prism Plastics
is and what their grant money will be used for. It is a new
business just starting up and the $1b0, 000 would be used to
purchase the first molding machine . O' Connell said that we want
funds not machinery if the business should fail . The Department
of Commerce has determined that the business is credit-worthy.
Motion by Standafer, 2nd by Luckey to recommend to County Board,
Prism Plastics, Inc. for a grant of $100, 000, which will be
administered by St . Croix County. Carried.
Motion by O' Connell, 2nd by Luckey to adjourn. Carried. Meeting
adjourned at 9 : 55 A.M.
