October 21 , 1999

CALL TO ORDER: Vice-Chairman, Lois Burri, called
the meeting to order at 8.30 a.m.
ROLL CALL: Members present were John Mortensen,
Florence Patrick, Carolyn Weisenburger, Doris Teigen,
Mary Lou Smith, Phil Hammer, Rich Peterson, and Lois
Burri. Ann Healy, Rhoda Wood, and Herb Giese were
excused. Also present were Sandy Gehrmann, Jonna
Fedie, Barb Blaisdell, Gladys Ellefson, Shirley Marlette,
Janice Thompson, Myona Davis, Jolayne Mehr, and Mark
Vanesse.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by
John Mortensen and seconded by Mary Lou Smith to
adopt the agenda; motion carried.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be
November 18' at 8:30 a.m.
ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: A motion was
made by John Mortensen and seconded by Phil Hammer
to approve the minutes as printed; motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Introductions were made.
Budget/Plan/Reauthorization: The Aging Budget's of

media does any articles on Federal or State programs they
need to be pre-authorized by Director, Sandy Gehrmann.
Staff ReP orts:

Elderly Pro-Bono Project was discussed. Sandy and Sue
will meet with the Attorney's Association on November
10' to present this project.
Family care pilots are not working well yet due to lack of
funds.
There was much discussion regarding need for more
home-health care in St. Croix County. Requests for
personal care and nursing care are being documented by
the Benefit Specialist.
A Holiday Card fundraiser was discussed.
Coalition of Wisconsin Health brochure was distributed
regarding health care.
The 2000 calendar to date is as follows: Volunteer
Recognition - Thursday, April 13' Silent Auction/Meat
Ball Dinner - Thursday, March 23rd; "Teeing It Up For
Senior Services" - Monday, June 12th; and Senior
Celebration - Wednesday, May 10'. The County Fair will
be in July and Senior Leadership in October.
SITEXENTER REPORTS:
DEER PARK: Had evening meal last night. Participants
enjoyed trip to Augusta to the Amish community. The
