COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING
January 28, 1999

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman,airman Herb Giese called the
meeting to order at 8.30 a.m.
ROLL_ CALL: Members present were Herb Giese,
Andy Germain, Lois Burri, John Mortensen, Rhoda
Wood, Larry Weisenburger, Phil Hammer, and Roberta
Moe. Mary Lou Smith and Ann Healy were excused.
Rich Peterson was absent. Also present were Sandy
Gehrmann, Jonna Fedie, Cindy Icard, Barb Blaisdell,
Gladys Ellefson, Bonnie Brande, Donna Zacharias,
Lorraine Jacobs, Peggy Patterson, Irene Flanigan, Thom
Delgado, Reuben Wallen, Renea Nogal, and Shirley
Marlette.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Phil
Hammer and seconded by John Mortensen to adopt the
agenda; motion carried.
DATE OF NEXT MEETINGS: The next meeting will
be Thursday, March 18' at 8:30 a.m.
ACTION ON PREVIOUS MINUTES: A motion was
made by Larry Weisenburger and seconded by John
Mortensen to approve the December minutes as printed;
motion carried.
February 8' for sessions either March 15-17 or June 7-10.
The 1998 Nutrition Statistics were discussed. St. Croix
County served 5,000 more meals in 1998 than 1997.
Suggestions on Statewide Aging Plan . Priorities for the
Years 2000-2002 sheet was distributed. Sandy asked for
suggestions from the Council in each described area. -.
On Friday, February 12', Hardees in Baldwin will give
proceeds of a breakfast sandwiches to the LIEAP
Program.

A Swing Dance is scheduled on February 5' from 7:30
p.m. - 11 :30 p.m. at the Willow River Elementary Oak
Street Gym. Cost is $5.00. Proceeds go to the St. Croix
County Pilot Service Projects of the Hudson High School
Honor Society.
The Vehicle Transportation Participant Guidelines were
distributed.
The Spring Card Tournament was discussed.
The Center Board Coalition United Way Grant was sent
in. There will be a short meeting at the New Richmond
Senior Center on March 2' before the presentation.
