Excused: Nancy Bieraugel - County Board The meeting was called to order by Chuck Mehls at 1 : 05 p.m. . The agenda was adopted on a Hanson/Trende MOTION. The next meeting will be on December 1, 1999 at 9: 00 a.m. . Minutes of the September 28, 1999 meeting were approved on a Hanson/Trende MOTION. Unfinished Business : COMMUNICATIONS VAN UPDATE: The Committee discussed comparisons of two van layouts reflecting on the usable space available between a 24 ' and 30' model . Also, reference was made about the use of the current van and its limitations as used in a New Richmond exercise on 10/19/99 . New Business : DTN WEATHER RADAR/MONITOR ALERT SYSTEM: Brantner identified a weather radar that is available, which would be used by the Emergency Communications Center. It would provide more current weather information for St . Croix County 24 hours a day. Hanson/Trende MOTION to try it on a trial basis . Y2K CONTINGENCY PREPARATIONS : Brantner identified the planned communications to be used New Year' s Eve. There will be a communications net operating that night. EOC will be open from 10 : 00 p.m. to 3: 00 a.m. . DIRECTOR' S REPORT: The new Visions software was implemented on 10/12/99 . It appears to be operating well . I Brantner informed the Committee of the trmendous amount of work that Steve Banahman did in developing the G.O. Databases . The County will be taking applications for dispatcher positions in order to build up his list of possible candidates for positions . Brantner discussed a joint-powers agreement that the Justice Department has been concerned with and may want to implement. BILLS AND VOUCHERS : The bills for September were approved on a Trende/Hanson MOTION. EMS, FIRE, & Law Enforcement issues : EMS - absent Fire - absent Law - Hudson Police Department is starting to use the new system more effectively.
