EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
September 28, 1999
Present: Chuck Mehls,Jim VanDerwyst,Gene Hanson,Jack Colvard,Greg Carlson,&Nancy Biergaugel.
Guests: Larry Peterson,American Red Cross
Excused:Dick Trende
Meeting called to order by Chairman Mehls at 1:00 PM The agenda was adopted on a
Hanson/VanDerwyst MOTION.
Date of next meeting was scheduled for October 26, 1999 at 1:00 PM.
Minutes of the August 1999 meeting were approved on a Hanson/VanDerwyst MOTION.
New Business: New Richmond will be holding a full-scale exercise on October 19'h at 6:00 PM. The
exercise will occur at the New Richmond Municipal Airport.
• Red Cross will moulage victims starting at 5:00 PM at the New Richmond Fire
Station.
• Red Cross will provide beverages and table ware from their canteen unit.
• Greg Carlson will be video taping the exercise.
• Emergency Government will provide funding through training grants.
• Communication Center will provide mobile communications van.
• Emergency Operations Center evaluator will be Nancy Bieraugel/Gene Hanson
Revised Hazardous Materials Report Form was disseminated and reviewed.
Colvard/Bieraugel MOTION to accept revised form. Passed.
Director's report:New CAD software training is taking place this week. Cut over date to
the new software is scheduled for October 12t`.
Worker's Comp.Case was updated to committee
Property insurance inventory has been updated and provided to the insurance carrier.
Bills&Vouchers: Bieraugel/VanDerwyst MOTION to approve August 1999 bills. Carried.
EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement issues:None brought forward.
Announcements&Correspondence: Bieraugel informed the committee that county employees that serve
on committees are not eligible to present or vote on motions that are
brought before the committee;this was the determination of the
Administration Committee.
