, ��, UNTy RESOLUTION APPROVING ALTERATION OF SUPERVISORY
` °"� r��,�^ e DISTRICT BOUNDARY-VILLAGE OF SOMERSET
1 WHEREAS,in 2011 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a 10-year supervisory
2 district plan creating county supervisory districts,municipal aldermanic districts and election wards
3 following the 2010 Census; and
4
5 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.10(3)(c) allows a county board,in its discretion, to alter the
6 boundaries of supervisory districts based on annexations which occur after the adoption of the 10-year
7 supervisory district plan, as long as the number of supervisory districts is not changed; and
8
9 WHEREAS, the Village of Somerset completed an annexation in October 2016 of a parcel
10 described on the attached map consisting of 6.985 acres; and
11
12 WHEREAS, a map of the annexed parcel, along with a copy of the annexation ordinance has
13 been filed with the St. Croix County Clerk and are attached; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the parcel annexed by the Village of Somerset is part of County Supervisor District
16 2, consisting of Ward 3,in the Town of Somerset; and
17
18 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to move the annexed parcel into County Supervisor District 1 in
19 Ward 2,Village of Somerset; and
20
21 WHEREAS, the population of the annexed parcel is zero; and
22
23 WHEREAS, this resolution does not change the number of supervisory districts.

25 THEREFORE be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the supervisory
26 district boundaries are hereby altered by moving the annexed parcel of land from County Supervisor
27 District 2 to County Supervisor District 1 consisting of Ward 2 in the Village of Somerset as shown on
28 the attached.

30 FURTHER be it resolved that the St. Croix County Clerk is hereby directed to forward all notices
31 required under Wisconsin Statutes, Chapter 59, to the Secretary of State for the purpose of advising that
32 office of said supervisory district boundary changes.

described territory was detached from the Town of Somerset, St. Croix County, Wisconsin and
was annexed to the Village of Somerset, pursuant to Section 66.0217 of the Wisconsin
Statutes, by an ordinance adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Somerset at a regular
meeting held on the 18th day of October, 2016.
Parcel Description: Said Parcel Contains 304266.6 Square feet (6.985 acres).

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY
TO THE VILLAGE OF SOMERSET, WISCONSIN
THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF SOMERSET, WISCONSIN,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. TERRITORY ANNEXED. In accordance with Section 66:0217 of
the Wisconsin Statutes and the petition for Unanimous annexation filed with the Village
Clerk on the 19th day of August, 2016, signed by the owner, the following described
territory in the Town of Somerset, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, is annexed to the
Village of Somerset, Wisconsin:
Parcel Description: A parcel of land located in part of the Southeast Quarter of
the Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 31 North, Range 19 West, St.
Croix County, Wisconsin; described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast
corner of said Section 34; thence along the east line of the southesast Quarter of
said Section 34, N01 degrees 18'36"W a distance of 231.79 feet to the northerly
line of the Wisconsin Central Railroad and the point of beginning; thence
continuing along said line, N01 degrees 18'36"W a distance of 424.00 feet;
thence S88 degrees 41'24"W a distance of 661.33 feet; thence S29 degrees
55'08"W a distance of 439.16 feet to said northerly line of the railroad; thence
along said northerly line N89 degrees 12'26" E a distance of 175.28 feet to the

SECTION 2. EFFECT OF ANNEXATION. From and after the date of this
ordinance the territory described in Section I shall be a part of the village of Somerset
for any and all purposes provided by law, and all persons coming or residing within such
territory shall be subject to all ordinances, rules and regulations governing overnin the Village of
Somerset.
SECTION 3. ZONING CLASSIFICATION. The territory annexed hereby to the
Village of Somerset is zoned Agricultural, and is subject to all provisions of the zoning
ordinance of the village of Somerset.
SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this ordinance is invalid or
unconstitutional, or if the application of this ordinance to any person or circumstances is
invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the other
provisions or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
or unconstitutional provisions or application.
SECTION 5. WARD DESIGNATION. The territory described in Section 1 of this
ordinance is hereby made a part of the second ward of the Village of Somerset.
SECTION 6. POPULATION. The current population of the area is one (None).
SECTION 7. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect upon passage
and publication as provided by law.

The undersigned, constituting 100 percent of the owners of the following described territory
located in the Town of Somerset, St Croix County, Wisconsin, lying contiguous to the Village of
Somerset, petition the Town of Somerset and the Village of Somerset of said city to annex the
territory described below and shown upon the attached map, as permitted by Chapter 66 of the .
