Dear Anthony Rivard,
Community Development staff have reviewed the Land Use Permit application for the construction
of an accessory structure (farm machine shed) that exceeds the maximum height allowance
pursuant to the St. Croix County Zoning Ordinance.
This request has been conditionally approved based on the application submission and the
following findings:
1. This property is 50 acres and zoned Rural Residential.
2. The structure will not be connected to a Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment
System (POWTS).
3. Section 17.12 (6) (b) allows farm silos, barns and other farm structures and
necessary mechanical appurtenances to be excepted from the height regulation in
Section 17.12 (5), with a land use permit issued by the Zoning Administrator.
4. A land use permit application was submitted on 11/27/2017 for the construction
of a machine shed to store farm equipment such as tractors, a combine and discs.
Based on these findings, approval of the Land Use Permit is subject to the following conditions:
1. The structure shall not exceed 35 feet in height above ground level.
2. The structure shall have at least 10 feet of separation from the drain field installed
in 2010.
3. The structure shall have at least 10 feet of separation between existing structures
onsite.
This approval is subject to the conditions listed above; it does not allow for any additional
construction, structures or buildings beyond the limits of this request. Your information will
remain on file at the St. Croix County Community Development Department suite. It is your
responsibility to ensure compliance with any other local, state or federal permitting or regulations.

A copy of the Land Use Permit placard should be submitted to the local Building Inspector for the
town upon application for the building permit. The orange placard must be posted on the job-
site and visible from public view.
