1 RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE TOWN OF ST. JOSEPH TRANSPORTATION
2 ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM(TAP)APPLICATION TO THE WISCONSIN
3 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (WisDOT)

6 WHEREAS, jurisdictions in Wisconsin have been made aware of a highly competitive
7 grant program through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation called the Transportation
8 Alternatives Program (TAP), which funds bicycle and pedestrian trail projects at an 80% grant,
9 20%local match; and

11 WHEREAS, the Town of St. Joseph has submitted a TAP application titled the St. Croix
12 River Crossing Loop Trail Connection to Somerset/New Richmond, and
13
14 WHEREAS, the application proposes the combination of off-road trail and bicycle lane
15 improvements between Houlton and Somerset; and
16
17 WHEREAS, the proposed project is identified and supported in the 2017 St. Croix County
18 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors supports
21 the TAP application submitted to WisDOT by the Town of St. Joseph for the 2018-2022 award
22 cycle.
