BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN

WHEREAS, County Board proceedings must be published pursuant to Wis. Stats.
§59.14(2); and
WHEREAS, current practice is to publish detailed meeting minutes as the
proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee recommends publishing a certified copy of
the County Board proceedings, which is a brief, precise summary of every resolution
adopted, ordinance enacted or other action taken by the County Board, instead of the
detailed meeting minutes; and
WHEREAS, the Administration Committee recommends that Article V, Section B.
7. of the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors Rules and By -laws be amended to reflect
the change in procedure as follows:
Section B. Procedures.
7. Minutes of the County Board meetings shall be kept in accordance with Wis.
Stats. §59.23(2)(a). Minutes shall be transcribed within seven (7) days of the
Board meeting and sent to each supervisor for review. It is recommended that
any Supervisor requesting additions or corrections to the minutes should
submit the request to the County Clerk within 14 days of receipt of the
unofficial minutes. Upon approval of the minutes, or approval of the minutes
with changes, at the subsequent County Board meeting, the minutes shall
become official,
and theThe County Clerk shall certify and publish a certified copy of the
minutes proceedings of all County Board meetings in all county newspapers as
the official proceedings of the County Board meeting pursuant to Wis. Stats.
§59.14(2). "Proceedings" means a brief, precise summary of every resolution
adopted, ordinance enacted or other action taken by the County Board.

one year.

THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the
amendments set forth above be and are hereby approved.
