RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE ST. CROIX COUNTY BICYCLE
AND PEDESTRIAN PLAN

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, bicycling and walking are viable, efficient and cost - effective means of
transportation among the public; and
WHEREAS, bicycling and walking are outdoor recreational activities that can be
enjoyed by a large population, both young and old; and
WHEREAS, bicycling and walking are healthy outdoor activities that can increase the
health of citizens; and
WHEREAS, the citizen advisory group identified bicycle and pedestrian trails as a high
priority in the 2006 St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan; and
WHEREAS, Goal E of the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan requires the Parks
Department to, "Develop plans for and encourage the development of comprehensive,
county -wide, multijurisdictional trail systems to meet the needs of residents, in
cooperation with cities, villages, towns, special interest groups and the County Highway
Department."
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby adopts
the St. Croix County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan dated March 18 2008.
