THE TOWN OF STAR PRAIRIE

ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, Wisconsin State Statute 83.08 — Acquisition of lands and interest therein, authorizes the
St. Croix County Transportation Committee to accept remnant tracts of land remaining during or after highway
and bridge improvements; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Highway Department has determined that approximately 0.6 acres of
excess (land which is unbuildable and not developable) right -of -way exists along the south side of CTH "C" in
the Town of Star Prairie and is no longer necessary for the County's use for highway purposes; and
WHEREAS, said 0.6 acres is described as a parcel of land located in the NE ''A of the NE '/ of Section
21, T31N, R18W, in the Town of Star Prairie, Wisconsin, being all lands described in Warranty Deed recorded
in Volume 339, page 225, document number 250704, lying southerly of the southerly right -of -way line of
County Trunk Highway "C ", which is further described as follows:
Commencing at the NE corner of said section 21; thence S 00 °05'06 "E, along the east line of the NE'/
of said section 21, 851.89' to said southerly right -of -way line, thence S 86° 01'32" W, along said southerly line,
69.91'; thence S 78° 23'53 "W, along said southerly line 425.37'; thence S 76° 22'39 "W, along said southerly
line, 200' more or less, to the waters edge; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Star Prairie is interested in obtaining said parcel to supplement their Town
owned and maintained public park area to serve the public for park and recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin State Statute 83.08 authorizes the County to convey land to owners of adjacent
property when such property is no longer necessary for highway purposes; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin State Statute 83.08 directs that funds derived from such sale be deposited in the
county highway fund and the expenses incurred in connection with the sale shall be paid from that fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors approves the
conveyance of 0.6 acres of excess right -of -way along the south side of the CTH "C" Johannesburg Bridge to the
Town of Star Prairie as an intergovernmental cooperative effort and to promote the public use of land unusable
for highway purposes for the sum of one dollar.
