HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2007 (36) RESOLUTION AMENDING RULES AND BY -LAWS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN COUNTY BOARD PROCEEDINGS — PUBLISHING Resolution No. A; (2007) St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, Article V, Section B. 7. states that minutes of the County Board are to be transcribed within seven (7) days of the Board meeting and sent to each supervisor for approval; and WHEREAS, supervisors may request additions or corrections to the minutes within 14 days from the board session; and WHEREAS, if no additions or corrections are received by the County Clerk within fourteen (14) days from the last day of the board session, the "unofficial" minutes are released for publication; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section B. 7. does not address how corrections or changes to the minutes are to be handled when received before the "unofficial" minutes are released for publication; and WHEREAS, Wis. Stats. §59.14(2) states that a certified copy of a board's proceedings must be published within 60 days after the adjournment of the board's session. THEREFORE, the Administration Committee recommends that Article V, Section B. 7. of the Rules and By -laws of the Board of Supervisors of St. Croix County, Wisconsin be amended as follows: 7. Minutes of the County Board shall be kept in accordance with Wis. Stats. §59.23(2), Wisconsin Statutes.), Minutes shall be transcribed within seven (7) days of the Board meeting and sent to each supervisor for appRw --Eah supervisor may-r tt review. Upon approval of the minutes, or approval of the minutes with changes, at the subsequent County Board meeting, the minutes shall become official and the County Clerk shall certify and publish a copy of the minutes in all county newspapers as the official proceedings of the County Board meeting pursuant to Wis. Stats. §59.14(2). Proceedings of the County Board shall be recorded electronically by tape recorder. Said tapes will be preserved by the Clerk for one year. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the amendment set forth above be and is hereby approved.
