St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, section 45.80(1)(a), Wisconsin Statutes, directs that a county shall have a
County Veterans' Service Officer; and
WHEREAS, due to a retirement, a vacancy has occurred in the office of County
Veterans' Service Officer; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 45.80(2), Wisconsin Statutes, the Board of Supervisors
shall fill the vacancy of County Veterans' Service Officer by election for a term which shall
expire on the first Monday in January of the 2 year subsequent to the year of his or her election,
and, if reelected, shall continue to serve unless removed under section 17.10(2); and
WHEREAS, the Administration Committee has interviewed applicants and recommends
that Merlyn Blaisdell be elected County Veterans' Service Officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
confirms that Merlyn Blaisdell is elected St. Croix County Veterans' Service Officer, effective
December 31, 2007, for a term which expires on Monday, January 5, 2009.
