PROPERTY TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR FISH AND WILDLIFE
SERVICE

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, St. Croix County owns a 75 -acre parcel commonly known as the Oak Ridge property in the
Town of Stanton; and
WHEREAS, this property is best suited to be used as wildlife habitat and is presently being used for that
purpose; and
WHEREAS, this property is surrounded by properties owned by other governmental entities used for
similar purposes; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has evaluated properties the County owns and the Oak Ridge property is a
parcel that could be disposed of; and
WHEREAS, the Fish and Wildlife Service of the United State Department of the Interior has offered to
purchase the Oak Ridge property for $12,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Committee and Finance Committee have reviewed the
prospective agreement and believe that this transaction is in the best interests of St. Croix County.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors approves the selling of
the Oak Ridge property specifically described as a parcel of land located in Township Thirty-one (31) North, Range
Seventeen (17) West, Town of Stanton, St. Croix County: In Section nine (9), the south 35 acres of the Northeast
Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (NE1 /4 of SW1 /4), the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter (S1/2 of NW 1/4 of SW 1/4), the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (N1 /2 of
SE1 /4 of SW1 /4), per the proposed agreement to be reviewed and modified as necessary by Corporation Counsel.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the County Clerk and County Board Chair are authorized to execute
the purchase agreement and warranty deed.
