PLANNING AD HOC COMMITTEE
April 1, 2009

Meeting was called to order by Vice Chair King at 9:50 AM in the Board Room at the HHS facility in New Richmond.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Richard King, Esther Wentz, Eugene Ruetz, Julie Speer, Daryl Standafer
MEMBERS ABSENT: Roger Rebholz
OTHERS PRESENT: Administrative Coordinator Chuck Whiting, Health & Human Services Director Fred
Johnson, Building Services Director Art Tobin, Supervisor Dave Ostness, Corporation
Counsel Greg Timmerman, Chief Deputy John Shilts, Norman Matzek
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: Motion by Speer, 2 by Wentz to adopt the agenda, motion carried unanimously.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING: May 6, 2009
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING:
Motion by Ruetz to approve the minutes from March 6th, 2nd by Wentz, motion carried unanimously.
NEW AND OLD BUSINESS:
1. Follow Up on Current Buildings Status
Tobin reviewed how dete appropriate building size and space can be done. He has had conversations with Short-
Elliot- Henderson engineering representatives on how to gather this information and plan accordingly. The desire is to
develop a study that is objective and consistent throughout the organization.
The Conuruttee reviewed the work going into determining options and costs for moving HHS offices around to better
address client needs and safety issues for employees. Shilts reviewed his security assessment of the building and the single
point of access approach. Costs have not yet been determined for such a move at the facility.
Tobin reviewed return air issues that have been discovered at the Government Center, but noted it too early to make
determinations on the extent of any problems yet.
2. Tour of HHS and Nursing Home Facilities
Tobin and Johnson led the Committee on a tour of the two buildings.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
