Verson 9 0. SOD 1070'rP {NA1t011 JOB I)KSCRIPTIOti A non-residential POW FS utilizing a Bio-Microbics High Strength FAST was designed and installed to serve the expansion of the Willow River Saloon in 2007. The syslonl design was approved as State Transaction 5'41391607 and installed under Sanitary Permit ;,509292. Tuned dosing has been utilized to allow retention & nnirigation of peak flows. The system consists of a 2,000 gallon grease nap. a 2500 gallon trash tank and a 4200 gallon equali7ationr'surge tank that time doses effluent into a Brio-Microbics Ihah Strength FAST i.0 ATU contained in it Wieser %5,000 Bio-tank. 'Ihe treated effluent is discharge by gravity to a Wieser N`T.P 1,250 gallon dose tank with duplex pumps. Daily waste water (low venerated by the establ6hatent has exceeded the original design parameters, leading to the hydraulic failure of the dispersal cell. The Soil & Site evaluation report of record indicates soils that will accept effluent at a rate of 0.1!L6 gpd sq.ttday. Monitoring has determined that the total daily flow averages 1,500 (;pit at a waste strengtit of 1,570 Mg; I. BOD with treated effluent exiting the Bio-Microbics wait is 137 Mgt BOD (131 Ibs BOD.Day). PROPOSAL: This dcsigtn proposes to leave all tankage and Aft) treatment devises as inaallcvf and implement a soil based organic loading sizing criteria to desi,jr and install a new dispersal cell. Installation of ball valves at the existing pump tank foreemain will redirect effluent to the new dispersal. The existing dispersal cell will he Iefl in place, allowing for future re- use. Effluent will be redirected to an Orenco V6600A 6 carm~6 outlet diventer valve that will alternately dose one of six trenches u1 series. The replacement dispersal cell will be oversized to maximize use of all available area for dispersal cell ins(alla[ion. Dispersal Cell Calculations: 1. Nis. Adm. Cale General The conventional septic system shall be operated in accordance with SPS 387-i84 Wis. Adm. Code, and shall be maintained in accordance with component manual SBO-10705-P (N.01;01). All local and: or state piles pertaining to system maintenance and maintenance reporling shall be complied with. Questions on the uperarion or maintenance of the system .hould be directed to the maintenance provider, Jim Ihornpson at (71 s) 248-7767 or the St. Croix County Zoning Department at 15) 386-4680. Septic. Surge & Grease Tanks Septic tank, Surge Lank and Grease trap servicing mechanics comply with SPS 383.54(I)(e). The operating condition of the sepuc tank. Surge tank and outlet filter shall be assessed at least annually by inspection. The septic tank and Surge tank contents shall be removed when the sludge and scum in the tank exceed 1.3 the liquid volume of the lank. The content% of the septic tank shall be disposed of in accordance with NR 113. Wis. Adm. Code. by an individual certified to service septic tanks under s. 781.48, Stairs. Septic tank manholes risers, access risers, and covers should be inspected for water tightness and soundness. Access openings used for service and assessment shall be sealed walertighr upon the completion of service. Any opening deemed unsound, defective, or subject to failure must be replaced. Exposed access openings greater than 8 inches in diameter shall be secured by an effective locking device to prevent accidental or unauthorized entrv into the tank. The addition of biological or chemical additives to enhance septic tank performance is generally riot required. If such products ate used they shall be approved for septic tank use by the Department of Commerce, Satety and Buildings Division Bi_o-Microbies 3.0 High Stren h FAST 1'he Aeration Treatment Unit (A I U) shall be unspccted annually following procedures established to per Bio-Microbics INSTALLATION OPF.R.AIION&MAINTFNANCF.MANUAL. Pump Tank The pump (dosing) tank shall be inspected annually. All switches, alarms, and pumps shall be tested to verif% proper operation. Soil Absorption Cell Trees or shrubs should not be planted directly on the soil absorption system. The area above and around the system should be seeded and nhulehed as necessary to prevent erosion and provide some degree of frost protection. Traffic (other than for vegetative maintenance) over the system is to be avoided. Soil compaction may hinder aeration of the infiltrative surface within aid above the svstem and wall promote frost penetration during cold weather months. Influent quality into the system may not exceed 220mg'L BODS, 150 MGA.'INS, and 30 mgiL FOG. Influent flow may not exceed maximun design flow specified in the permit lbr the installation. Observation pipes within the dispersal cell shall be checked for effluent ponding. Pending levels shall be reported to the owner. Consistent levels above 6 inches indicate an impending hydraulic failure requiring diversion of'cffluent to resting dispersal cell. Effluent flow shall be alternated between dispersal cells by use of diversion valve on a two-vrtr schedule or as required by inspection. Effluent to be diverted from new cell to old drainfield at 3 year anniversary of new system installation. Old drainfretd to be utilized for a 1 year period. Effluent dispersal to be alternated between systems on a two year rotating basis or as required by annual inspections thereafter. Contingency Plan If the septic tank or any of its components become defective the tank or component shall be repaired o' replaced to keep the system in proper operatinL,. condition. Lacessive ponding within the dispersal cell will be eliminated by installing, a new suit absorption cell to bring the system into proper operating condition.
