PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING
Date: October 11, 1999 Location: Government Center, Hudson
The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 12:40 p.m. by
Chairman Gerald Peterson. Members present: Peterson, Art Jacobson, Julie Speer,
and Herb Giese. Excused absence: Mary Louise Olson. Also present: Debra Kathan
and Steve Weld.
Moved (Speer, Giese) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. The
next meeting date was confirmed as October 18 with a 12:30 p.m. starting time. Moved
(Giese, Speer) and approved to accept the minutes of the October 4 meeting.
Discussion regarding the wages paid to part-time employees in the Department of
Aging. It was noted that increases for 2000 were included in the budget proposal from
the Department.
Motion (Speer, Jacobson) to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c and
e for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the AFSCME unions. Roll call
vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 1:10 p.m.
Moved (Giese, Speer) and approved to come out of closed session at 3:35 p.m.
Discussion regarding meeting with the Nursing Home Administrator next week. Carolyn
Krieger will be scheduled to appear at 12:30. Discussion regarding the recruitment of
the Administrative Coordinator. The Committee noted that the Personnel Department
would release no information prior to the Selection Committee reviewing the
applications in early November. General discussion regarding recruitment efforts in the
County for various positions.
Moved (Speer, Jacobson) and approved to adjourn at 4:15 p.m.
