PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING
Date: October 25, 1999 Location: Government Center, Hudson
The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 12:40 p.m. by
Chairman Gerald Peterson. Members present: Peterson, Julie Speer, Art Jacobson,
and Mary Louise Olson. Excused absence: Herb Giese. Also present: Steve Weld and
Debra Kathan.
Moved (Speer, Jacobson) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. The
next meeting date was set for 12:30 p.m., November 16. At that time, the Committee
will meet with members of the LAW bargaining team. Moved (Jacobson, Speer) and
approved to accept the minutes of the October 18 meeting.
Motion (Speer, Olson) to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c and e
for the purpose of continuing labor negotiations with the AFSCME unions. Roll call
vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 12:43 p.m. Moved (Speer, Olson) and
approved to come out of closed session at 3:10 p.m. Discussion regarding the
Employee Recognition Banquet. The Personnel Committee is finalizing the list of
attendees. Discussion regarding the non-represented wage grid for 2000. Members of
the Committee will attend the Finance Committee meeting on October 26 to secure
funding for a 1999 study of the wage grid. Discussion regarding money set aside to
cover wage increases in the contingency fund for 2000.
Moved (Jacobson, Speer) and approved to adjourn at 4:10 p.m.
