Substance Abuse Committee Official Minutes
11/25/09
Members Present:
Esther Wentz, Roger Rebholz, Ken Kolbe, Bill Cramer (County Board), Doug Briggs (Somerset
PD), Jamie Schultz (Heart of David), Sandy Fuller (YSB), Ed Thurman (Public Health), Steve
Kirt (Behavioral Health), Troy Jensen (Exodus Recovery Ministry), Amber Marko (YSB),
Chuck Whetting (SCC), Dennis Hillstead (Sheriff)
Meeting called to order at 1500 by Wentz
Minutes from previous meeting reviewed, Briggs motion to accept, second by Kolbe, motion
carried
AODA Grant:
Discussion on sustainability of the grant and YSB briefed the committee on a grant application to
the Bremer Foundation the results of which should be known at the end of January. No action to
take.
Youth Drug Court:
Judge Vlack's letter on the grant success was read to the committee by Chair Wentz and a
discussion ensued about matching funds. No action to take.
Open Door rescue:
Not present
MADAM:
Discussion on the reissuance of the, "Ice Breaker ", and a cook book that is being distributed by
Butterfly House.
Heart of David:
Discussion on the plans of the Pastor
County Tobacco Ban:
The committee discussed the recently passed ban on tobacco products on county property. No
action to take.
