CALL TO ORDER
Chair Esther Wentz called the meeting to order at 3:05.
Members present:
Doug Briggs — Somerset PD, Rick Johnson — St Croix DA, Roger Rebholz — County Board,
Chuck Whiting — St Croix County, Steve Kirt — Behavioral Health, Esther Wentz — County
Board, Gail Colligan — Youth Service Bureau, Joan Chamberlin — AODA Behavioral Health, Bill
Cranmer — County Board, Ken Kolbe, County Board,
Peter Van Dusartz, Hudson Hospital, Joan Sprain, UWEX, Dana Krahenbuhl, Hudson Schools ,
Sheriff Dennis Hillstead,

Esther moved to adopt the agenda.

OLD AND NEW BUSINESS
1. Reports
a. DOJ (Department of Justice) Grant
Doug shared first quarterly report. 45 students served Going well. Bill asked what the chances
are for an extension. Doug reported good. Gayle said it was a challenge starting after school started.
Next fall, plans are to introduce her to all staff. Esther shared NR School Newsletter with an article
about Gayle. Administratively grant is going ok.
Gayle reported on schools doing a lot. Many students were in leadership roles like STAND &
SADD. There is funding for free camp for students in St. Croix Co. sponsored by the YMCA.
b. Youth Service Bureau - Received Bremer grant to supplement Gayle's position so
match is covered.
c. Drug Court - Steve reported they are moving ahead with juvenile treatment court.
Submitted a concept paper to OJA. Final due September. Also, looking at other
funding opportunities. Not a Drug Court. High need kids that take up court time that
need more intensive work. Will use wrap around model and provide some type of
monitoring. This will be mandatory. Families will be involved and have support.
Will not include municipal courts.
d. Tom Hennes Report- No report
e. MADAM — No report Explained that it is a Sober House for women in St. Croix
Falls.( Not certified as a residential treatment center)
2. Video "This Place" Was shown after the meeting in the Board room.
3. Alcohol and Drug Information Update
Esther thanked Sheriff Hilstead for sharing information about this committee at the County Board
goal setting session.
Joan Chamberlain reported on Parents Who Host. They were asked to do a radio interview at
WIXK yesterday. Went well. She handed out placemats and bookmarks. Gayle is working with
the schools, Joan C. is distributing in Somerset, Joan Sprain said stickers will be on pizza boxes in
Baldwin, HCE distributed placemats and articles went to all 4 -H High School seniors.
Joan C. also shared that Neenah high school created a DVD, Edge of Realty that will be used at St.
Croix. Central high school & parents will be invited.
Doug shared an incident 6 years ago in Somerset. Not a driving incident but a fall. And described all
of the cascading events.

Would like a report on Butterfly House
Announced that Dana will be intern this summer at Programs for Change.
