JANUARY 28, 2009
Meeting convened at 3:00 PM by Chair Wentz.
Members present:
Doug Briggs- Somerset Police Department, Pete Van Dusartz- Programs for Change- Hudson
Hospital, Sandy Fuller — Youth Service Bureau, Gail Colligan - Youth Service Bureau, Esther
Wentz —Board of Supervisors, Connie Thorson — Public member, Dennis Hillstead — St Croix
County Sheriff, Tom Hennes — Open Door Rescue Mission, Amber Marko — Youth service
Bureau, Chuck Whiting — Saint Croix County, Bill Cranmer — Board of Supervisors, Amber
Perry — Drug Court Coordinator, Ken Kolbe — Board of Supervisors
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Introduction of Gail Colligan YSB who has been employed to fill the AODA position for the
school districts
Discussion of the National Child Safety Council, report by Briggs on neighboring counties
experience which was found to be satisfactory. Briggs and Hillstead agreed to look into the
administration of the program further to determine if it could be accomplished through the
Sheriff's Department results to be reported at next meeting
Youth service Bureau — no further update
Drug Court — Discussion of establishing a Teen Drug Court
Meth and Alcohol update — discussion on Moms and Dads Against Meth and Butterfly
House
Hennes - update on Open Door Rescue and progress on zoning issues
Van Dusartz — introduced himself and gave an overview of the programs for treatment
available through the Hudson Hospital.
General Discussion - Briggs advised the members of the Photo Voice Program that currently
on display at the Phipps and its part in the Community Health Improvement Committee
activities.
