Janke introduced Kevin Jones Director of the Small Business Development Center ~SBDC} at
the Uw-Eau Claire campus. Jones explained that he and Janke work to ether t g o assist existing
and prospective businesses with their specific questions. Jones resented an overview P of an
evaluation of SBDC services by clients. Nearly 42 percent rated the service as "excelle nt , 39
percent rated it as ~ "good" . Complete results were in ~a written summar distributed to the Y
com~rllttee.
The data collection for the Hudson Retail Analysis pro'ect ended in October. Th ~ e tally sheets
have been sent to the Survey Research Lab for tabulation.
A retail shopping survey has been com feted for Woodville. 2 ' P oo residents in the 698
telephone exchange were contacted. In addition over 300 em Io ees in the Industria P Y 1 Park
completed a short survey. Janke will present the results to the Woodville Economic _ _
Development Corporation on. November 3. ~ Janke has been workin with Extensio '

Recycling Grant Distribution: Fodroc ' ' zi indicated that the County dust received final a meat
from the DNR for the 1997 Rec clin Grant P y y g .The prelinvnary calculations appeared that all
member municipalities would not be able to receive full re' • lmbursement for their 1997
expenses. Fodroczi asked the Committee to meet after the Nove tuber 17 County Board
meeting to allow staff more time to evaluate the numbers ' . Committee a greed .
W~VR.A Contract Renewal: Fodroczi re oiled that C P aunty budget approval would allow for
renewal for the service contract with the Western Wisconsin ' Q Recycltn~ Association at the
