LAND & WATER CONSERVATION
Staff Present: County Conservationist-Charles Christenson
Meeting called to order by LWCC Chairman Jensen.
Draft 2000 budget presented by Christenson. Substantial increase due
to change in health insurance rates. Impact for this item alone is
about $39,000.
Administration budget: Christenson pointed out that 410-360 increased
to cover installation and operation of T1 computer line. This line
will also service UW-EXT staff (increase $2,326). New equipment
included digital camera and software equipment, and scanner. Also as
part of transect survey project a laptop computer is budgeted.
Glen Hills Watershed: Budget covers only routine operation and
maintenance work.
Any items relating to flood plain issues, upgrade equipment or related
issues will have to be addressed once the final study reports are
completed.
Discussion on block grant for year 2000. With the increase in health
insurance, the minimum block grant needed is $200,000 (+$35,000 over
1998-99). This assumes that there are surplus funds that can be
.applied to make up the balance of the funds needed.
Bethke made motion to approve budget as presented. Berenschot
seconded. Carried.
UW-EXTENSION
