April/May/June Events:
The Volunteer Banquet was held at Garfields Valley
House on April 2? 185 meals were served.
Senior Celebration was held at the Faith Community
Church in Hudson with 125 in attendance. Lorraine
Jacobs and LeRoy "Perk" Gregerson received the St.
Croix County Outstanding Senior Citizen Awards.
The Senior Options Expo at St. Paul River Center was
enjoyed by all 31 that attended.
The AARP Convention will be held at the Minneapolis
Convention Center June 2, 3, and 4.
AAA Update: The St. Croix County Department on
Aging will report to AgeAdvantage in Madison
beginning July 1"
Victim/Witness Presentation - Ann Gustafson: Ann
gave a very informative presentation and distributed
information.
New Business
Appointment of Nominating Committee: Chairman
Giese appointed John Mortensen, Larry Weisenburger,
and Roberta Moe to the Nominating Committee. They
are scheduled to meet at 8:30 a.m. on June 18' before
the Council meeting.
County Fair Ideas: The County Fair will be July 23 -
26. The Center Boards will do wall displays -not tables -
with the Sesquicentennial theme. Each Center will also
provide one speaker and one craft demonstration from
its community
on the date they are scheduled to
volunteer. Demonstrations
and talks will take place
between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.

Staff Reports
The Nutrition Program has served 2,199 more meals
than last year at this time.
Lenore Hoolihan has been hired as the Faith In Action
Coordinator.
SITE/CENTER REPORTS:
DEER PARK: No representative.
GLENWOOD CITY: The Center invited two nurses
for lunch and they did blood pressure. BINGO is going
well. Participants attended a Soup and Salad Luncheon
at Glenhaven. Started an exercise program. There will
be an open house on June 7' from 1:30-4:00, at the
Coachman Supper Club, for Birtie and Bud Moe's 50'
Wedding Anniversary.
BALDWIN: The Center ordered 500 brochures. A
Box Social Exchange and a trip to the Norske Nook in
Rice Lake are being planned. Martha Mabis will do a
presentation next week. Participants are playing
BINGO and cards.
HUDSON: Martha Mabis is scheduled to come in
June. The Panhandlers performed at the Birthday Party.
A fitness program has been started at the Center.
NEW RICHMOND: Exercise program has been
started at the Center. John Mikla is scheduled to
entertain on June 16'h. Participants went to Suzanne's
for lunch and a trip to Fawn -Doe -Rosa Animal Park is
planned for June 19'h.
RIVER FALLS: Participants enjoy playing cards. A
55 Alive class is scheduled at the Center on August 13'b
and 14t'.
SOMERSET: Walter Craft performed at the Center.
Participants enjoy playing BINGO.
WOODVILLE: Cards and BINGO are played. The
Center raised $200.00 at the Thrift Sale. A chair rack
was purchased. The Panhandler's are scheduled to
perform on June 16'b.
A motion was made by Phil Hammer and seconded by
Andy Germain to approve the New Richmond Van trip
to Fawn -Doe -Rosa Animal Park on June 19'; motion
carried.
A motion was made by Phil Hammer and seconded by
Rhoda Wood to adjourn the meeting at 11:20 a.m.;
motion carried.
