MINUTES
January 13, 1998
PRESENT: Ron Kiesler for John Borup, Dave Fodroczi, John Krizek, Rich

ALSO PRESENT: Kathryn Beutel, Dave Schatz, Tom Belongia, Marilyn Fruit

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 8:35 a.m. by Chair Ron
Raymond.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA: Agenda was adopted as presented.
PREVIOUS MINUTES:
LAW ENFORCEMENT/CLUES: Timelines for the implementation of the Clues/Law
Enforcement were discussed. A decision is needed from the State to determine the
installation schedule for the District Attorney's office. The computers need to be in
place in the DA's office before the terminal controllers can be installed.
STAFFING REVIEW - JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Common job descriptions were
discussed. The Committee wishes to review existing and proposed job descriptions
of the Computer Services Department for the Director, Support positions, and the
Operations Specialist. Tom O'Connell also requested a diagram of an organizational
chart. Further discussion tabled until the next meeting.
APPROVE DEPARTMENTAL INTERNET ACCESS REQUESTS -
DISCUSS CHARGEBACKS: Tom O'Connell moved to approve Internet access
requests for the following departments based on justification presented by the
department:
Health & Human Services departments including Economic Support, St. Croix
Industries, Long Term Support, Mental Health, Family & Children's Services, Home
Health, Nursing Home;
Government Center departments including Maintenance, Corporation Counsel,
Computer Services, Child Support, Emergency Communications, and Administrative
Coordinator.
Second by Ron Kiesler. All in favor. Motion carried.
Chargebacks to departments for access to the Internet was discussed. Charges will
be based on configuration of each computer within a department connected to the
Internet. Based on 50 computers being connected, approximate charges would be
$16.00 per month to cover the monthly ISDN line charges, maintenance for the
routers and e-mail server, and annual charges paid to the Internet provider
(WISCNET).
DISCUSS LONG RANGE PLAN - FOCUS ON SUMMARY: The Long Range Plan will
be examined at a special meeting March 10 dealing specifically with the Long Range
Plan.
OTHER BUSINESS: Committee members expressed appreciation to Max Ihrke for his
time and dedication serving on the Committee and wished him well in his retirement.
