Meeting called to order at 1:30pm by Chair Ray Mealey.

James Craig suggested that the County Board Chair may want to have

someone from the county medical society to represent practicing
physicians and that he would continue to function as a consumer
representative.
Robert Boche moved, second by Marguerite Sumner to approve agenda as
presented. Motion carried.
Wanda Viellieux moved, second by Keith Gregerson to approve minutes of
last meeting. Motion carried.
Next Meeting will be held June 25 at 6:30pm in the 82 Conference room
of the Health & Human Services Complex in New Richmond. (this is 1/2
hour prior to Public Hearing on 1999 budget)
Election of Officers: Chair May Mealey called for the election of officers. The chair
asked Keith Gregerson to call for nominees for chairperson. Keith Gregerson called
for nominations.
Robert Boche nominated Ray Mealey for chair with second by James Craig. Robert
Boche moved that a unanimous ballot be cast for Ray Mealey and that the
nominations be closed, second by Robert Palewicz. Motion carried.
Chair Ray Mealey called for nominations for Vice -Chair. Robert Boche nominated
Keith Gregerson for vice -chair. May Mealey asked for a unanimous ballot for Keith
Gregerson, second by James Craig. Motion carried.
Ron Lockwood reported that Governor Thompson has proposed in the Mini -budget
which is currently being considered by the State Legislature that 16 million dollars
be lidded to the Community Options Program and the COP-W Program. The
governor proposed to allocate this money to reduce COP waiting lists. The LTS
Committee has been working hard to reduce the duplication in waiting lists so only
one person with developmental disabilities is shown on the COP waiting list while
71 DD persons are on the CIP1 B waiting list. These persons are all eligible for
COP. Motion by Glenda Zielski, second by Bruce Bayer to direct chair to write to
the state clarifying the COP waiting list status to include persons on CIP1 B waiting
list. Motion carried.
Wanda Viellieux requested early notice of June 25 Public Hearing on the DHHS
1999 Budget so that she could get this information in to St. Croix Coalition for
Advocacy Newsletter.
After brief discussion, motion by Wanda Viellieux, second by Marguerite Sumner to
approve variance for Lillian B. so that COP funding can be used to support her at
Friendship Manor in Hudson. Motion carried.
Wanda Viellieux asked that ice water be made available at future meetings. Ron
Lockwood apologized for not making some kind of beverage available.
Motion by Bruce Bayer, second by Keith Gregerson to adjourn at 3:20pm. Motion
carried.
