July 31, 1998 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, Committee Members PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Date: August 5, 1998 Location: Government Center, Hudson The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 1 p.m. by Chairman Bill Krueger. Members present: Krueger, Mary Louise Olson, Gerald Peterson, and Herb Giese. Art Jacobson was at a Highway Committee meeting. Also present: Debra Kathan, Victim/Witness Coordinator Anne Gustafson, Office Manager Deb Staberg, and Board members Julie Speer and Chuck Mehls. Date of the next meeting was set at 8 a.m. on September 10. Moved (Giese, Peterson) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. Moved (Giese, Olson) and approved to accept the minutes of the July 15 meeting. At the request of the Public Protection Committee, the Personnel Committee took no further action on the start date for the proposed new position of Child Support Specialist. The Committee reviewed the three reclassification requests. Moved (Olson, Peterson) and approved to send to the Evaluation Team the reclassification requests. The Evaluation Team was instructed to report its findings to the Personnel Committee at their next meeting. The Committee reviewed labor issues, including the use of purchased services to provide for negotiations and related matters. The Personnel Director provided the Committee with a brief history of labor negotiation services in the County. The Committee reviewed the 1999 Personnel Committee. Two new items were an employee recognition banquet to mar] County and a staff training program for the items was determined as follows: employee recognition banquet--$2820. approved to adopt the Personnel budget additions.
