Committee present: Ron Raymond, Linda Luckey, Dave Hense, Gerald Larson, Art
Jensen.
Staff present: Mary Jenkins
The hearing was called to order at 7:30 PM by Chairman Ron Raymond. The hearing notice
was read into the record.
Zoning business: Thomas A. Pietsch to rezone a 6.3 acre parcel of
land from Agriculture to Ag Residential.
Location: A parcel of land located in the NW%4
of the NW%4, Section 5, T31 N-R16W, Town of
Cylon, St. Croix County, Wisconsin.
Chairman Raymond opened the hearing and explained the procedure and rules.
Carrie Monnot, 235 S. T. H. "46", Deer Park, told the committee that they wish to purchase
the 6.8 acre parcel to add on to their existing parcel. They have no plans for the property
at this time, but may eventually plant trees on it. In order to add it to their property it must
be zoned Ag Residential.
Kermit Thompson, Town Board Chairman, told committee members that the Town of Cylon
supports the rezoning request. He referred to correspondence of July 15 that was sent to
the Zoning Office.
Jenkins told the committee that staff is recommending approval of the rezoning, based on
the fact that the provisions of Wisconsin Statute 91.77 have been addressed by both the
township and the county. The parcel being rezoned does not create a new buildable parcel,
but enlarges an existing one.
Chairman Raymond called for further comments either supporting or in opposition to the
request, and when none were received called for a motion to close the hearing.
A motion was made by Hense, seconded by Jensen, to close the hearing. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Hense to recommend approval to the County Board of the request
of Thomas A. Pietsch to rezone a 6.3 acre parcel from Ag to Ag Residential, stipulating that
the provisions of Wisconsin Statute 91.77 have been addressed by both the township and
the county. The motion was seconded by Jensen. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Hense and seconded by Larson to adjourn. Motion carried.
Hearing adjourned at 7:45 PM.
