JAIL ASSESSMENT/DRAWERS: Last month approval was given to spend up
to $2100 for repair of the file drawers in the jail area.
Maintenance obtained two more bids for this project. One from
Wevers in Baldwin for $2300 and one from A & R of Hudson for $2250.
Humphrey explained these drawers need at least a 175 pound
capacity. Mehls moved to approve up to $2250 to repair the drawers
and let Maintenance and the Department decide which contractor to
go with to get the best deal. Second by Speer. Carried.
BUDGETS: Medical Examiner: Shanklin asked for a 3t raise in his
salary, increase in call hours wages and a reimbursement for off
site investigations. He also requested an increase in the cost of

about a 4% increase. Committee reviewed the budget. Motion by
Mehls to approve this budget of $269,376. Second by Speer. Carried.
VICTIM WITNESS: This budget showed an 18.7396 increase. The reason
for this is because the part time person went to a full time
Position. Johnson explained the VOCO grant which is lon funded
and awarded to this department to help people fill out restraining

almost 200 people last year. Motion by Gunderson/Mehls to approve

SHERIFF: Burch was asked to present to the Committee the idea of
placing the money from the Confiscated Drug Fund ($56,691),
Polk/St. Croix Co. Drug Fund ($97,976) and Counteract money ($2638)
into the general fund and used as a budgetary item. Discussion was
held and it was the consensus of the committee is to leave the
accounts within the Sheriff's department .
