ST. ROM�'w '° �..1NTY RESOLUTION AMENDING COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT FOR PLACEMENT ON MCGRATH
COMPENSATION GRID
1 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors has established the position of
2 County Administrator pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 59.18; and
3
4 WHEREAS, on June 7, 2011 the St. Croix County Board approved Resolution 46(2011)
5 appointing Patrick Thompson County Administrator of St. Croix County; and
6
7 WHEREAS, on April 2, 2013 the St. Croix County Board approved Resolution 9(2013)
8 approving the County Administrator's employment agreement, extending the term of the initial
9 agreement through June 30, 2017; and
10
11 WHEREAS, on December 6, 2016 the St. Croix County Board approved Resolution
12 59(2016) approving the County Administrator's employment agreement, extending the term of
13 the initial agreement through June 30, 2021; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the County Administrator position has not been previously listed on the
16 McGrath Compensation Grid, used by all other County employees; and
17
18 WHEREAS, after a market study of comparable communities, Dr. McGrath has made a
19 recommendation for the placement of the County Administrator position on the McGrath
20 Compensation Grid at Grade 90; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the County Board has adopted the new McGrath Compensation Grid on
23 August 6, 2019.

25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of
26 Supervisors does hereby amend the employment agreement of County Administrator Patrick
27 Thompson amending Section 11(A) and Section 11(B)to read as follows:

29 A. Employee will be initially placed on the wage grid at a step that does not result in a
30 decrease in rate of pay (Step 6), consistent with grid placement methodology used for
31 other positions.

33 B. Employee will be eligible for a step increase annually if budgeted and employee received
34 an acceptable performance review during the prior year.

Fiscal Impact: Placement on the grid is$741 higher than current contract amount.
