Agricultural Services & Education Center Convened: 9 a.m.
Baldwin, WI Adjourned: 10:40 a.m.
Present: Ronald Raymond, Lois Burri, Bill Peavey, Gene Ruetz, Sharon Norton - Bauman, Lee Milligan, Pete
Kling, Kimberly Reaman, Joan Sprain, Ruth Hilfiker, Martha Mabis, and Mary Lestrud.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Raymond.
Date of next meeting was set for April 1, 2008.
Burri moved that the agenda be adopted as presented.
Norton - Bauman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Peavey moved that the previous meeting's minutes be approved.
Ruetz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Norton - Bauman moved that the vouchers be approved.
Burn seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Administrative Report:
Reaman's last day is March 14.
Preliminary interviews are scheduled for April 19 with final interviews for May 2.
There was a discussion of educational plans for the upcoming year. This discussion will continue at the next
meeting.

Summary
• Good ideas. Need to communicate this to audience. But who is the audience.
• If we are to contribute we need some hard hitting issues. Farm transfer and water supply are good
examples deemed important.
• Financial sustainability is a critical piece of this
• Energy cost, efficiency is key.
• Need to make sure we communicate need to other elected official. UWEX needs to
• All issues are intertwined
• These are the things we need to be stressing
• Come back next time with strategies, more focused approach. More common descriptive words
• This is a good time to do this because food and energy are in the news and timely.
• Lee — modernizing St. Croix County's #1 industry — dairy farms.
Ag Agent Minutes
There are several meetings coming up in March. They will focus on spring wheat, fertilizer decisions, farm
business arrangements and Wisconsin farm laws.
Peavey moved to adjourn.
Ruetz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
